Dental Implants

A dental implant is basically a titanium screw that is placed into the bone. Time is allowed for the bone to grow onto the titanium implant so that it can become solid. Once a solid implant is achieved your dentist can place a crown on top of the implant and it can look and function like a natural tooth.

A dental implant is a great replacement for a missing tooth, because:

  • It functions alone, unlike a bridge or denture.
  • It looks like a natural tooth.
  • It is easy to clean like a natural tooth (brushing and flossing etc.), unlike a bridge or denture.
  • It is not removable like a denture.
  • It does not place extra stress on the teeth or gums adjacent to it like a bridge or a denture.
